Parish Meeting - Tuesday 21st Aug, 7:30pm

 

Andy Hall, Parish Chairman invites you to our Parish Meeting on Tuesday 21st in the Village Hall from 7:30pm. The provisional agenda is:-

 

  1. Matters arising from the last minutes - on the village website if you'd like to pass 5-10mins reading them (http://hockerton.com/news/2018-01-30/parish-meeting-minutes-16th-jan-2018);

  2. Review 2017/18 Parish Accounts - on the website if you'd like a look: http://hockerton.com/news/2018-07-09/parish-accounts

  3. Cycle Tour of Britain coming through Hockerton - what are we doing to mark the event?

    1. Clear up the village - cut grass verges, trim hedges, collect litter?

    2. Decorate the village with bikes?

    3. Print banners and hang - where? On the village hall wall?

    4. BBQ party during the day so we have loads of residents enjoying themselves outside the village hall as the riders speed passed?

    5. Create a straw bale "grandstand" in the village hall grounds for residents to get a decent view?

    6. Discuss other ideas put forward

  4. Determine a working party to tidy the village:

    1. Village Hall grounds

    2. clean and spruce up the village phone box

    3. Trim grass verges and hedges

    4. Collect litter

  5. Review the village library - is it used? What other possible uses could here be?

  6. Defibrillator - sign required for the village hall. Also consider a recording of the checks/charging that are carried out

  7. CIL Fund - NSDC have confirmed there is ££ available from Community Infrastructure Levy payments. Initiatives must be community oriented so we should consider uses for the ££:

    1. Replace village hall windows

    2. Replace village hall doors

    3. Re-point window and door surrounds that appear dangerous

    4. Repair walls

    5. Install fencing

    6. Re-do village grounds (weed, flatten, lay weed membrane & spread gravel)

  8. Hockerton Sports & Social Club - should we arrange days out, golf days bike rides, etc?

  9. AOB

 

Despite the lengthy agenda the aim will be for the meeting to take an hour. Having seen the Agenda now, please prepare any points you'd like to raise so we can keep the meeting flowing.
